MLK Remembrance Day at UCLA

By the FuturizeX team

On April 25th, we welcomed hundreds of high schools students to UCLA, in partnership with UCLA Community Programs Office, UCLA Advocacy, and UCLA Undergraduate Admissions, for a special screening of Hidden Figures🚀 to learn the incredible story of Katherine Johnson, Mary Jackson, and Dorothy Vaughan, three brilliant members of NASA who stood up against adversity to launch one of America’s greatest space missions.

This screening was part of #MLKRemembranceDay on campus, where we commemorated Dr. King’s historic 1965 visit to UCLA. Through film, panels, workshops and more, MLK Remembrance Day utilizes the legacy of Dr. King and UCLA to explore current and historical events, and to effect positive change.
